NEWENT Town were found wanting against top-half Wantage, as the Hellenic One basement hosts fell to a 6-1 defeat on Saturday.

The Daffs led after eight minutes, but then conceded within a minute and trailed 2-1 at half-time.

Another after the break and three goals in the last 10 minutes compounded their woes, with the defeat leaving them 10 points clear of safety with just the one win.

And Ross Juniors also remain rooted to the foot of North Gloucestershire One after falling to a 4-1 loss at home to basement rivals Woolaston 2nds.
