TWO goals in the first five minutes saw Ross Women’s unbeaten league run ended by Redditch's Kingfisher FC at the Sports Ground on Sunday.
A disappointing opening saw Jess Lingham score just moments in for their table top rivals, followed by a second moments later from Ashleigh Kennedy.
Shell-shocked Juniors regained their composure though, and created two good chances, but both shots curled wide.
Ross then thought they had scored when a Millie Malsom shot went through the keeper's hands, but appeals that it had crossed the line fell on death ears.
The young hosts, sponsored by 21Wellbeing, HP Scaffolding Ltd and The Hope and Anchor, changed their shape after half-time, but chances for Lily Irving, Lauren Creed and Malsom were all well saved and Kingfisher took the win to leapfrog Juniors to go second in the MidWest Counties League.
Juniors men also lost 3-1 to two late goals at Redmarley & Tibberton in North Gloucestershire One, Bradley Preece with the consolation.
And despite drawing 0-0 at the break, Hellenic One bottom side Newent Town 1st XI also lost 4-0 at second-placed Redditch Borough.
There was no home comfort either, as the Daffs Development were walloped 7-2 at Wildsmith Meadow by Fairford 2nds, Mohamed Morgalba and Sam Thorne their scorers.
But Ruardean Hill just beat winless Cheltenham Civil Service 2-1 at home in the Gloucestershire League after taking the lead with 20 minutes left when Alex Stephens rifled in from the edge of the box.
Service quickly equalised from the spot after a foul in the box, but a free-kick from halfway by Kane Fellows was then somehow fumbled over the line for the winner, leaving Hill ninth.
Lydbrook drew 2-2 at home to Gala Wilton 2nds in Gloucestershire Northern 2 to go sixth.
And a James York strike gave Mitcheldean a 1-0 home win against Broadwell 2nds to go second in North Gloucestershire Premier, but Howle Hill lost 2-0 at Whitecroft.
NG1 leaders Longhope marched on with a 5-1 home win over Soudley, Nathan Gwilliam (2), Florin Crainic, Dan Morgan and Harry Tuffley the scorers, while Lydbrook 2nds won 4-2 at home to Tidenham to go fourth.
Goals for Sam Humble, Gavin Kyte, Josh Street and Lukas Holse secured a 4-2 home win for NG2 leaders Ruardean United over Ellwood 2nds, but Mitcheldean 2nds missed out 4-3 away to Soudley 2nds after a brace from Connor Dix and one from Gavin Smith.
Ruardean Hill A were roasted 6-1 away to Blakeney 2nds in NG3, and Lydbrook A went down 4-1 to hosts Milkwall 2nds.
