TWO new CCTV cameras have been installed in Ross-on-Wye thanks to the latest round of funding from the Home Office’s Safer Streets fund.
Ross Town Council has helped to fund the initiative with the new cameras being installed and are now live on Wye Street, next to the toilet block, enabling the camera to covering the bandstand and neighbouring area and along the Ropewalk, near the River Wye.
Ross Town Council invested £10,500 to the scheme with the additional funding being obtained from the Safer Streets Fund, launched in 2020, which aims to tackle neighbourhood crime, violence against women and girls and anti-social behaviour.
The Safer Streets Fund has previously funded a new CCTV camera on Pig’s Alley on the town’s High Street.
