MONROSS Trailblazer Rich Foster showed a head for heights as he took on the 1200ft ascent 6.8km Hatterrall Fell Race in the Black Mountains, and came home first with a minute to spare.
He led the way back to the Pandy start and finish, crossing in 32 mins 14 secs, with San Domenico's Harry Trend second 1.02 back and Stroud AC's Ben Lowe third another six seconds back.
Runners also headed for Fforest Fields for the Herefordshire & Borders Winter Cross Country Series race on Sunday, organised by Builth and District Running Club.
Four Trailblazers laced up their running shoes in a 162-strong field to take on the 10km course, with Gavin Jones taking 12th overall with a cracking time of 48.07.
Laura Lelievre finished 57th overall and second in her over-35 women's category in 57.18, while Andy Stephens was 92nd, finishing in 64.39, and Mike Thurgood ran a time of 84.49.
Trailblazers also spread their wings in park runs far and wide on Saturday.
At the Aberystwyth parkrun, Gavin Jones was just a second off the fastest time with 19.13, while Toby Dickens winged in at the Hove Promenade parkrun in 23.01.
Rachael Aitken also ran the Worcester parkrun in 25.23, while at Mallards Pike in the Forest, Catherine Finlay came home in 25.55.
A host of MonRoss runners also headed closer to home to Chippenham Fields parkrun in Monmouth, where the Forest of Dean AC's Marcus Bennetto set the fastest time of 17.15, with Matt Webb coming home in 21.30, Emma Davies in 23.09 as fifth fastest woman, Jennifer Graham in 23.34, Mike Thurgood – fresh from his 200th parkrun the previous week – in 24.59, Becca Foster in 26.57, Tony Davies in 29.25 and Gary Griffiths in 31.49.
