The MonRoss-Trailblazers Running Club had an impressive weekend, with members competing in several challenging events.

Elle Lumley stood out at the Hardmoors Sutton Bank Sizzler, securing second place among female competitors. She also achieved a new personal best, finishing four minutes faster in a demanding night race featuring over 300m of elevation gain.

In North Wales, Andy Stephens and Pip Cottrell tackled the Snowdonia Marathon Eryri 2024. Cottrell finished 22nd in her category with a time of 4:50:42, while Stephens completed the marathon in 4:30:12, placing 145th in his category.

Emma Davies represented the club internationally at the Valencia Half Marathon, clocking her fastest half of 2024 at 1:44:57. She finished 55th in her category out of 768 runners, demonstrating her strong form in wet conditions.

The Ross-on-Wye parkrun took place over the weekend, drawing participants from the local area and beyond to enjoy a scenic 5-kilometre run.

Gavin Jones led the way for MonRoss at the Ross-on-Wye B course, finishing first with a time of 20:39. He was followed by Neil Grinnell from Ledbury & District Harriers, who secured second place in 22:16.

Chloe Elliott from Sale Harriers Manchester finished third overall and first female with a time of 22:49. MonRoss members continued to impress, with Sam Harness finishing eighth in 25:25 and Tony Davies ninth in 25:31.

Elsewhere for the Trailblazers, Rebecca Foster took part in the Chippenham Playing Fields parkrun in Monmouth. At the Forest of Dean parkrun, Toby Dickens had an impressive outing, finishing in second place, while his teammate Dan Sandford secured a commendable fifth position. Rosie Davies also represented the club at Mallards Pike.
