To the editor,
It has been brought to my attention that on Monday (February 27) a group of students held a peaceful demonstration over their uniform.
In my opinion the headmaster handled this appallingly and rather than find a diplomatic conclusion he expelled one of the pupils which caused outrage amongst the students.
What had been a peaceful demonstration went out of control resulting in the Year 11 exams being disrupted.
These students have seen teachers demonstrating for higher pay and we are all expected to support their demonstration.
Whilst I don’t agree with the students demonstration, I do however feel it should have been handled correctly by the headmaster.
This school is repeatedly letting students down and has a headmaster that hides behind his receptionist rather than deal with parents face to face when trying to resolve issues such as those raised on Monday.
Our young generation deserve better.
