A SUPERMARKET worker Andrew Davies has bagged himself a £28,000 car in an online competition - despite the fact that he can’t drive!

Andrew, from Ledbury, was deep into his night shift when he won a Volkswagen Golf GTI Clubsport in BOTB’s Instant Wins Competition.

After initially receiving an email notification to say he was a winner, Andrew received a video call from BOTB presenter Christian Williams the next day, who wanted to find out how he reacted to his win.

“When it popped up to say I won I couldn’t believe it, and couldn't sleep that night when I got home,” the 43-year-oId said.

“I’ve been playing BOTB for a few years now and a previous manager of mine managed to win with BOTB, which gave me confidence that one day it would be my day.”

Despite the Volkswagen Golf GTI Clubsport being renowned for its impressive performance and handling, Andrew, who hasn’t passed his driving test, is considering taking the cash alternative.

“I currently don’t drive, so the money would mean more to me right now.” he said. “I might treat my parents to a cruise because they’ve been good to me my whole life, and it’s a nice way to give something back.

“I also want to kit out my house with a few new bits such as a cooker and TV,” Andrew added.

BOTB presenter Christian said: “Andrew was clearly still in a lot of shock when I phoned him and I hope he has had a chance to catch up on some sleep following his exciting win.

“It’s a stunning car which would be a lot of fun to drive, but in his circumstances, I can understand why the cash alternative is very tempting.

“Andrew wants to give back to his parents, so it sounds like he’s going to use the cash to send them on a stunning cruise, which is a lovely gesture, and I’m sure he's going to be very popular with them.”

Leading car competitions company BOTB hands over the keys to a stunning dream car each week as well as a lifestyle prize.
