A PROMISES Auction was held recently to boost the fundraising for the mayor’s of Ross-on-Wye’s charity, which this year is Home-Start Herefordshire.
A sum in excess of £1,300 was raised at the auction held at the Corn Exchange with lots that included meeting Mo, the television donkey, a fused glass workshop and various prints made by local artists.
Auctioneer Ed O’Driscoll put the gavel down on other lots that included a vacation in Polruan in Cornwall and four nights in a charming town house in Majella National Park in the Abruzzo.
The funds raised will support the charity which helps families with children, who are in need of some extra support. A trained volunteer can visit a family and help with a whole range of things.
