Ross Men's Hockey Club team travelled to play a friendly fixture against Newport on Saturday, and came away with a 2 - 1 win.

Captain Chalk was spoilt for choice, leading a honed squad of 15 players fresh from pre-season training camp in Tenby. The line-up included forwards Willem Haagen, Richard Harbottle, Nick Clarke, and Ben Da Cuna; mid field, Chris Barh, Sean Couch, Andy Cross, Paul Bangers, and Captain Chalk. Goal-keeper, Seb Sullivan, was shielded by a mature defence of John Setchfield, Gareth Hughes, Ed Peck, Greg Weston and Tim Jones.
