The Carrot and Wine Store in Wormelow will become home to the Post Office on Friday, January 26th at 1pm. The Post Office at the former village shop closed in 2014, and was then demolished. When the Carrot and Wine store opened last year it presented an opportunity to restore Post Office services to Wormelow.
Post Office services will be delivered from an open-plan till alongside the retail counter of the convenience store throughout the village shop’s opening hours.
The opening hours will be Monday – Sunday: 7am – 9pm, which the Post Office says will make it very convenient for customers to visit as it will be more than double the branch’s previous opening hours.
The re-opening will be part of a major modernisation programme across the Post Office network designed to make it easier for customers to do business, through longer opening hours and modern open plan environments.
Suzanne Richardson, Regional Network Manager, said: “We are making it easier for customers to get their cash, send and collect their mail and do their banking because we know how important these services are to local residents. We are confident that this vibrant new-style Post Office at the heart of the local community will meet customer needs. This modernisation is part of a major investment programme, the largest in the history of the Post Office and will secure services for the future.”
