When Andrew James, the Site Manager at John Kyrle High School in Ross-on-Wye, was clearing out an area in the school, he came across this old black and white aerial photograph of the school from what is thought to be the 1960s.
He asked school governor Nick Dale, who is also a local helicopter pilot, if he could take a photograph from the same angle today - showing just how the school has developed and expanded.
Headteacher Nigel Griffiths said: “It was interesting to see how the site has developed over the years. This includes with the new sports facilities, maths centre of excellence and classrooms. There are also far more cars!
“The school has also grown in the number of pupils. The number was less than one thousand in the late 1990s, and is now over 1400.
“The school remains a focal point of the community and I remain very proud to be the headteacher.”
