Dear Editor,

We made the decision to move our family away from the South East to seek out a better education for our children. Our son had been bullied in year 7 and 8 (because he wanted to do well and to achieve) and lost all confidence, to the point where we took him out of school and tutored him at home.

Four years ago we moved to Herefordshire and our son began his new school career in Year 10 at John Kyrle High School. A few weeks ago, as a Year 13 student, he achieved 3 A*s in his A Levels and is now preparing to go off to a top Russell Group university. Even though he worked incredibly hard to secure such brilliant results, we cannot thank the teachers at JK enough for all the fantastic support and encouragement that they have given to our son along every step of the way.

Our family move was the best thing we have ever done and this has been validated by such a positive outcome at John Kyrle – better than we could ever have imagined for our son after such a traumatic start to his secondary school experience.

Our special, heartfelt thanks to all the teachers and staff at JKHS for their unwavering commitment and for giving our child the opportunity to shine; thank you all.

Mr & Mrs Sharp
