JUST what the doctor ordered!

Laughter is the best medicine and Nurse Georgie Carroll will be looking to have comedy lovers in stitches at Monmouth Savoy later this month with the UK return of her Sista Flo 2.0 hit show.

Working as a nurse in Australia, Rochdale-born Georgie discovered she went down a treat with her humorous take on health care and beyond with patients and fellow staff, and finally swapped her pen torch for the spotlight some four years ago after 20 years on the wards.

Since changing the operating theatre for the laughter lounge, she's played the likes of the London Palladium, the Sydney Opera house and the Hammersmith Apollo, and sold out theatres throughout Australia and the UK.

She's also played a sell-out season at the Edinburgh Fringe and impressed the judges on last year's Britain's Got Talent, with Simon Cowell describing her as "really funny... just brilliant!"

Her hit podcast, The Swab, is now in its third season with more than 125,000 listens and a nomination for Best Comedy podcast 2022 under its belt

"It was just me chatting to everyday nurses, staff room banter style. Turns out that this format is never not funny," says Georgie, who has starred Down Under on TV shows like Would I Lie to You?, Just For Laughs and Have you Been Paying Attention?

She is also an acclaimed and best-selling author, penning nursing “bible” Off the Charts (Pan Macmillan), which was nominated for the 2023 Russel Prize for humourous writing.

And Georgie's online following has gone viral, with the most viewed of her clips the "3 stages of nursing", with the terms "dolphin, penguin, and Orca" now ingrained in international nursing vernacular.

Everything Georgie does is "a genuine, hilarious, riotous celebration of the big hearted, no bullshit nurses that sooner or later play a part in all our lives", say the critics.

And she'll be handing out the happy pills at Monmouth Savoy's on Saturday, May 25, with tickets priced £22.50 available from the box office and via monmouth-savoy.co.uk
