“IT’S elementary, Dr Watson” – book yourself a ticket at Monmouth's Savoy for Sherlock's Excellent Adventure and have a sleuthing good time.
Ledbury-based Our Star Theatre Company will be presenting their acclaimed comedy on Thursday, May 2, following sell-out runs at Brighton and Edinburgh Fringes and three UK-wide tours.
Written by James Barry, the show follows Sherlock Holmes and his incomparable sidekick Dr Watson on a "riveting, hitherto unpublished case..."
Damsel in distress Lucy Matravers engages Arthur Conan Doyle’s famous sleuth and his partner to resolve a dispute over a family will.
But little do they know that this small case will brings Holmes straight into the clutches of his arch enemy, James Moriarty!
An Our Star spokesperson said: "This riotous spoof is taken on by four actors, minimal furnishings and a ton of jolly-good fun!"
The Reviews Hub praised their Edinburgh Festival Fringe show as: "A wacky farcical adventure, which had the audience laughing and delighting in moments of silliness."
And The Reviewers Hub at Brighton Fringe described it as “like a 21st century Flanders and Swann”.
The Herefordshire company are also preparing a community musical performance of Fiddler On The Roof at Malvern Theatre from July 24-27.
Sherlock's Excellent Adventure starts at 7.30pm, and tickets priced £15 (£12 students/U16s) are available from the Savoy box office or via monmouth-savoy.co.uk.
