A LOCAL upholstery company, which has been trading for 39 years, is to close after the brothers have chosen to retire.

Richard and Terry Downing work out of their unassuming upholstery shop in Station Street said that they thanked their customers for their loyal support over the years since 1985.

The publicity shy brothers said they just wished to just disappear into the sunset and explained that while it wasn’t an exciting job, they took great pride in the quality and standard of their work.

The brothers stated that they’ve received a lot of nice compliments since they announced their retirement, which makes them feel good and appreciated.

“We are not the longest serving traders in Ross-on-Wye, there are a couple of business that pre-date us,” they added.
