An eroding wall which has raised many concerns, located near to Chase Park and the Hole in the Wall, was taken down on Tuesday, September 11th.

Forefronting its partial removal, Mrs Joyce Thomas MBE and Ross Town Councillor, Phil Cutter, shared their joy at the removal, which they hope will be rebuilt in time.

Cllr Phil Cutter, who is also Chairman of the Planning and Regulatory Committee for Herefordshire Council, told the Ross Gazette:?“After much delay for legal reasons (ownership is silent), part of the wall is being taken down after safety concerns were raised.

“As the Ward County Councillor, it has taken me some time to resolve this with help from Mrs Thomas.

“We are now asking for a rebuild if funding is forthcoming. My thanks to HC Building Control for their help.”

Former County Councillor and first lady Mayor of Ross, Joyce Thomas MBE, added:?“The whole wall moved as the workmen pushed against it. It was so dangerous.

“At least it has been made safe, although at the moment it doesn’t look very good. Hopefully the wall will be rebuilt in the future.”See this week’s paper for more stories like this, available in shops and as a Digital Edition now
