A SENIOR carer at Ross Court has received a prestigious 25-year Service Award in celebration of working at Barchester Healthcare for 25 years.

Brenda Goulding, now senior carer, started at Barchester in in Ross-on-Wye in June 1999 and has worked with residents and their relatives to ensure that their needs have been met over the years.

Adele Keenan, employee services director at Barchester said: “I’m always pleased to hear stories about the long service of Barchester staff and am delighted Brenda Goulding has achieved this milestone. It is dedication like this that ensures our residents are provided with a happy place to live.”

Agda-Claudia Vasilateanu, general manager of Ross Court said: “We’re delighted to be celebrating 25-years of loyal service with Brenda Goulding. She has demonstrated her dedication and loyalty to this home and its residents year after year. I speak for all of us here at Ross Court when I say that I’m looking forward to many more years of working with Brenda Goulding.”

 ● A Whitchurch based firefighter has been presented with his long-service award for 20 years in the role.

Group Commander Dave Swallow presented Michael Davies with his award, a medal and a certificate on behalf of the Herefordshire and Worcestershire Fire and Rescue Service and congratulated him on his two decades of hard work and dedication to the role.

The crew at Whitchurch Fire Station covers an area of just over 53 square miles which is predominantly rural with large areas of farmland, between Whitchurch, the surrounding villages and scattered communities.

The population of the area is approximately 6,000. As well as a Scania Rescue appliance, the station also has a smaller compact appliance which can be used to access some of the narrower roads in the village such as to Symonds Yat and The Doward as well as being called to support in other areas across Herefordshire and Worcestershire and occasionally into Monmouthshire.
