WELSH speakers and learners came together in Ross-on-Wye to celebrate St David’s Day – the patron saint of Wales.

St Mary’s Church was the venue on Saturday March 1 for the monthly Sgwrs Group coffee morning for members and others who came along for a ‘chat’.

Along with the usual refreshments there some Welsh cakes available.

Adding to the musical backdrop was Ruth Cartledge, a harpist who played traditional Welsh Songs throughout the morning.

The event was enhanced with the wearing of Welsh costumes and other attire.

The group has continued to grow over the last two years, giving Welsh speakers and learners an opportunity to chat in Welsh.

Others visitors included those who were interested in finding out more about the Welsh language and culture.
