THE Zero Waste Stall at the Community Garden in Ross on Wye has recently benefited from generous support from the Ross Beer and Cider Festival, thanks to Ross Rotary and the Penyard Singers’ inaugural concert for the stall held at the Community Gardens.
Between the two events, over £1,000 was raised to help the organisation to provide food for those in need and to those who are passionate about not seeing good food go to waste.
The funds donated will help with getting more surplus food from its partners FareShare who distribute large quantities of surplus food from the major supermarkets and manufacturers.
The Ross-based organisation makes a contribution to the transport costs which is where these funds will be used for extra weekly deliveries.
Sam Martin (Penyard Singers) and Scott Teasdale (Rotary) visited the stall to see the good work in action and helped hand out some of the food which their generous support has provided. Huge thanks go to all who contributed to making these events a magnificent success.
