Ross were dominant in the first half of the match with some silky set piece plays. Fly-half Tom Harris looped with his inside centre Joe Muldowney, then passed to outside centre Tom Muldowney. As Tom was collared just shy of the line, he off loaded to the supporting Harris to score out wide. Scrum half Craig Powell converted.
More slick hands through the backs saw winger Ian Phillips pass around his back, to winger Wes Downing, who ran in from the half-way. The extras were missed.
The Ross forwards got into their stride, with Number 8 TC Leach gaining invaluable ground. Powell converted his own try.
Within five minutes of the re-start, Tom Muldowney read a Civil Service pass and galloped through to score with what is becoming a trademark try for him. Civil Service hit back to score a converted try under the posts at the end of the half. The second half was much quieter, with chances few and far between. In fact, it was the Civil Service RFC 2nds who scored the only points from their centre by spotting gaps in a tiring Ross defence.
The Escape man of the match was flanker Ian Davies. This week Ross will host Civil Service, this time in the league.
