A FOOTBALL club joined a nationwide safeguarding initiative called ’Play Safe’ at the weekend.
A Ross Juniors FC spokesperson said: "Football in England - at every level - has joined forces this weekend to promote ’Play Safe’, a national campaign to focus attention on the vital importance of safeguarding in football.
"Play Safe is officially supported by the NSPCC and will run on a specific weekend every season from now on.
"Ross Juniors FC are firmly behind this brilliant initiative, supporting The FA and Herefordshire FA in their ’Play Safe’ Campaign focussing attention on the importance of safeguarding in football at all levels.
"As a club, we promote openness and transparency and want all participants to know that they will be supported should they have any safeguarding concerns. "We want to continue working with The FA to make the sport we all love as safe and accessible to all as possible."

"There are some great videos on the page explaining what safeguarding is and how you can play your part too," said the spokesperson.
"There is also a video aimed at youth players - feel free to share this with your children.
"We will always listen to any concerns you have."
