NEWENT Town and Ross Juniors' men both saw their weekend games rained off with soaking pitches, alongside Lydbrook Athletic.
The handful of games played included Ruardean Hill Rangers' Saturday trip to a windy Bromley Heath for a mid-table Gloucestershire League clash.
Both sides found it difficult to string anything together in the first half with only one effort on target each – a fierce shot by Aidan Noble for the hosts and a good effort by Ollie Mason for Hill both dealt with by the keepers.
Bromley's Ben Ackerman should have scored when clean through ten minutes into the second half, but couldn’t get a clean strike.
But he then provided the assist for Noble to shoot past Aaron Underwood in the Hill goal for 1-0.
Charlie Taylor hit a fierce shot for the visitors that moved all over the place on 65 minutes, but Will Ferguson tipped it over.
And Bromley made sure of the win with 15 minutes left with a bizarre goal from Ollie Hanham, whose cross-shot fooled Underwood when it seemed to hold up in the wind and then take a bounce which altered its direction for 2-0.
A Gino Valenti goal fired Newent Development to a 1-0 Bateman President's Cup win away to Cinderford 2nds on Friday night.
And Lydbrook Athletic 2nds won 2-0 at home to Redbrook Rovers on Saturday to widen the gap on Ross Juniors at the top of North Gloucestershire One to 12 points.
Juniors have four games in hand, but Soudley's 1-0 Saturday win over Lydney A also saw Ross squeezed out of the top two promotion spots into third.
NG2 leaders Longhope's title hopes took a knock with a 3-1 home loss to Bream 2nds, with a just a point now separating them from Yorkley, Nathan Gwilliam with the consolation.
But mid-table Mitcheldean 2nds beat Ruardean United 6-1 at home, James York with a Brace and Max Wilkes, Tyler Kibble, Clint Jones and Luke Whiles also on target.
