The Ladies section at South Herefordshire Golf Club in Upton Bishop have celebrated a good year of competitions and fun games.
Lady Golfer of the year 2022 is Jo Spiers, who joined the club in October 2021 and achieved the award by entering the most qualifying rounds and reducing her handicap by 10 shots.
Winter 2021 Pairs winners were Sue Chance and Sue Wilson, who managed to win all their round robin games, including the former winning one match on her own due to the latter having Covid.
The winner of the Winter 2021 singles was Michelle Clegg having had a close game with Jill Wargen.
Summer singles winner 2022 was Mary Sullivan, who had a close run match with Michelle Clegg, and who clinched the match on the 17th hole.
Summer pairs winners 2022 were Lynn Ralph and Patsy Gronland.
Patsy is one of the oldest and very active member of the ladies section.
Catriona Brown had the winning score in the Club Championships overall net competition, beating the second placed competitor by 10 shots, in a great performance.
Gaynor Duvall won the Club Championships higher handicap competition for players with a handicap between 37 and 54, with the club encouraging players of all levels.
Club Champion for 2022 was Mai Bamford following a very exciting competition which went to a third play-off hole, with Mai putting out just ahead of Lynn Relph.
In the Ladies and Senior men fun competition in March, Tony Morris, Deborah Griffiths, Mike Boutcher and Gaynor Duvall won through.
Anyone who is thinking about playing golf for the first time or looking for a new club to join, can team up with a friendly bunch, who will always welcome new members to the club, said a spokesperson.
