A group of boys from the Forest High School recently took part in the Year 7 and 8 district mountain biking competition held at both Newent School and Forest High over the last few weeks.
The boys involved raced over both courses competing against the likes of Newent, Dene Magna, and Lakers.
The Forest High year 8’s demonstrated a superb effort despite finishing in 5th place overall in the event. This was despite only racing with two out of the three boys allowed. The year 7 boys excelled in their event over both courses and put in a massive effort to finish 1st overall. Showing plenty of guts and determination the boys were thrilled when finding out about the result and finishing as District Champions.
Head of PE Mark Hopkins commented: “I am so proud of all the boys that took part. The commitment and effort shown by them was superb. Huge credit goes to Tim Bayliss and Billy Morgan, Riley Bullock, Henry Jones, Marcus Hall and Matthew Mears. Well done for your efforts.”
