Ross Juniors under 8s played in a six-team group at the Cinderford Town Youth FC tournament. This non-competitive tournament consisted of ten minute games, one way, 5-a-side games, all played at a frenetic pace.

Playing in the first game against Broadwell Youth, Ross had a cagey start but soon found their confidence. Jakson continued his fine run of form scoring two goals, with Thomas getting a third. Louis was not often troubled in goal, but when he was, he dealt with the threats with aplomb.

Cinderford Town were strong opponents. Niall was unlucky not to convert a couple of chances. It fell to Luca, recently come back from injury, to clinch a win with a well taken goal.

Abbeymead Barbarians were by far the toughest competition. With skill across the board, Ross had to play hard and fast to match their attacks. Dylan especially in defence played heroically.

Gabriel managed to get into a 1 on 1 with their goalie, only to fall injured under a hefty tackle. There was nothing Louis could have done to stop an Abbeymead long range shot that saw Ross beaten 1-0.

It was the continued valiant efforts of the Cam Everside Ironmen goalie that denied Ross for so long in the 4th game. But the ever energetic and lightning paced Charlie finally got the goal that saw Ross winning 1-0. The final game against Heart of Gloucester saw Jakson finish as he started with the only 2 goals of the game, one a tremendous free kick that bounced off the cross bar and in.

Manager Mark continues to build and develop a very strong, happy, confident and successful Ross Juniors U8s side.
