Teams playing for Ross Juniors FC were very successful at the Raglan tournament which took place across the weekend on Saturday, June 22nd and Sunday, June 23rd
The players, some as young as five-years-old, returned to Ross with many wins.
The U12 girls section were at the Raglan tournament and entered two teams. The blacks won their group with an impressive five out of five wins, with 19 goals scored and 0 conceded. The greens also won five out of five, scoring 16 and also conceding 0.
Both teams contested the final and there was little between the two sides and the game inevitably finished 0-0. It then went to penalties and that finished 2-2, so sudden death came into play. After eight penalties the greens finished on top scoring the decisive penalty.
A spokesperson for Ross Juniors congratulated both teams and particularly the greens who triumphed and won the Emerson Cup.
Ross Juniors U6s were at the tournament on the morning of Sunday, June 23rd. They played some fantastic football winning three games, drawing one and losing none at all.
A spokesperson for Ross Juniors FC said: “They are certainly growing and improving as a team!”
The U10 Junior girls played a year up in the U11 section at the Raglan tournament, and more than held their own.
