A MAGNIFICENT 190 not out from Anthony James and 117 from Alexander Gooding kept Aston Ingham's Gloucestershire One title charge on course in a whopping 186-run win over Lydney.

The duo shared a superb 277-run second wicket stand, James firing 26 fours and five sixes and Gooding 14 fours and five sixes.

The Lydney attack had no answer as Aston racked up 332-4 in their 45 overs and the Foresters regretted electing to field first.

The visitors made a decent start in reply reaching 65 without loss when Alex Nelmes fell for 25 to a Josh Loade catch off a James delivery, and then reached 118 when Gus Carini-Roberts bowled opener Darius Govender for 45.

But the dismissal of Jordan Stone, lbw to Carini-Roberts (132-3) then saw the wheels fall off spectacularly, Lydney adding just 14 runs more as they were all out for 146 in the 32nd over.

Carini-Roberts, this year's Cheltenham College 1st XI captain, finished with five for 18 off 5.3 overs and James Wagstaff 4-11-4, with Aston now 14 points clear of Hawkesbury with three games to play.

The 2nds missed out by six wickets though to Forest Exiles at Aylburton after being restricted to 140-9 off 40 overs.

Openers Jimmy Davies and Ed Kendall scored 42 and 38 respectively, and third man Tim Dulson 18 before the innings fell away.

And Exiles eased to 143-4 with 3.4 overs to spare, Charlie O'Neill taking two wickets.

Like the 1sts, Aston 3rds were big winners however, firing 220-5 off 40 overs away to Newent Lions before blitzing them for 67 in 32.3 overs.

Frankie Gooding scored 47, Jordy Luis 39, Andrew Leighton 38, Will Green 24 and Tom Parsons 22 not out for the visitors.

And Clyde Breetzke (2-4-8), Oliver Kelsall, Philip Leighton and Gooding then laid waste with two wickets apiece for a 153-run win.

The 4ths also won at a canter, dismissing visitors Yorkley Star for 85 in 25 overs, with Will Kelsall taking six wickets and Joel Fishpool three, before Martin Jukes with 29 not out, and former National Hunt jockey Tom Scudamore and Johan Nieuwoudt both with 19, saw them to 88-2 in just 18 overs.

Sadly, Ross 1st XI were unable to put out a team and conceded their derby clash with Goodrich, leaving the villagers second in Marches One with three games to play and the town side second to bottom.

Ross 2nds played their derby away to Fownhope 2nds however, which the village outfit sneaked by three wickets with five balls to spare.

Chloe Tingle scored 30, Will Brookes 25 and Paul Franklin 22 as Ross set a target of 147 all out in 35.2 overs.

But 33 not out from Martin Skirrow and 26 not out from Jonathan Tandy just got Strollers home after 37 from opener Amit Navalgund, recovering from a mid order collapse to reach 148-7.

Goodrich 2nds also missed out in a nailbiter, losing by two wickets at home to Burghill, Tillington and Weobley 3rds after scoring 184 all out, with the visitors reaching 185-8 in 34.4 overs.
