Luke Jones was riding at Cadwell Park over the Bank Holiday weekend in round eight of the British Superbike Championship.
Luke, riding his Triumph 675 in the supersport class, had practice on Saturday, which did not go too well, as the bike had an engine problem and a replacement engine had to be used for qualifying on Sunday morning.
Luke finished seventh overall which put him on row three for the sprint race in the afternoon. Luke had a good start in the race which is run over 12 laps, and moved up to 5th on lap one, and continued to move through the field and went into 3rd place on lap ten, where he remained and finished 3rd at the checkered flag.
For the main race on Bank Holiday Monday, Luke was 4th quickest in race one, which put him on row two for the 18 lap race. Luke was lying 3rd after two laps, but crashed on the 3rd, where he received minor hand injuries, but otherwise all was ok.
Luke has dropped back to 5th in the Championship with 156 points.
The next round is at Oulton Park on 9th - 11th September.
