After almost a term of rugby under their belt and with three wins out of three, against Dene Magna, Newent and Monmouth, John Kyrle had high hopes for this rugby side entering their first county competition. John Kyrle's first group game was against a strong Bishop's A team, and even though the year 7's battled hard they were beaten 5-0 . In the other two group games they recorded a 10-0 win against Queen Elizabeth, Bromyard, with tries from Josh Simms and Charlie Price and drew 5-5 against John Masefield with another try from Simms. This was enough to put them through to the semi-final of the cup competition against a strong Luctonian team who had topped their pool. They battled hard and managed to score the winning try, with Henry Watkins crossing the whitewash in sudden death overtime to make their way through to the final.
