Alice Hurley has received confirmation from Horse Sport Ireland that she will now represent Ireland in FEI international dressage competitions.
Dressage rider, Alice, who was voted Ross Gazette Sports Person of the Year in 2015, was brought up in Hoarwithy. She has competed in affiliated dressage for 15 years up to Prix St George level, after winning the National Talent Spotting in 1999.
Alice studied for her Equine Science degree at Hartpury College, where she was selected for the Elite Squad at the Sports Academy. During her time at Hartpury, Alice received training from Olympic Gold Medalist, Carl Hester.
Upon completing her degree Alice began working for Karen Bourdon and has had many successes riding her horses in competitions.
At the British Association for the Purebred Spanish Horse (BAPSH) National Championship held at Hartpury, in August, Alice continued her run of form by riding Karen’s stallions to victory, winning an array of trophies.
Combining her many years experience in the dressage field and her bachelor degree in Equine Science, Alice designs training and care packages depending on the requirements and goals of each horse. She has a friendly, patient, calm and sympathetic approach which inspires confidence and perfection in each horse.
