The Ross-on-Wye Target Shooting Club had a good 2017-18 season both in the summer and winter leagues, with the following members showing well.

Small bore section 2017-18:

It has been a busy and successful year for the small bore section in both prone and bench rest.

In the Summer competitions, they entered in Cambridge Leagues, Cumbria Leagues, Portslade League, and Herefordshire 50m league.

In Cambridge prone, they had wins for Derek Lemarchand, 2nds for Rob Dercott, and third place for Alan Smith and Shaun Thorne in their respective leagues.

In Bench Rest, Steve Harris placed second, and David Allwright came third.

Mike Phillips had second in Division 1 of the 10m Air Rifle Bench Rest and 1st in Division 4 100yds bench rest in the Hendon League.

The Ross team came second in the Herefordshire 50m league.

In the Winter competitions, they had five teams in the Herefordshire Leagues, and the A team came second, the C team won Division 3, and the D team came second.

Six members shot in the County Team.

In the Cambridge Prone leagues, Ian Bamforth won Division 8, Alan Smith came second in Division 18, Derek Lemarchand won Division 20, and Barry Faulkner won Division 27.

Mike Phillips came second in the Air Rifle Bench Rest, Steve Harris and Mike Challenger came second in their Bench Rest Divisions.

Several full bore trips were made to Bisley with the club’s guns, and they now have access to Kingsbury Range in Warwickshire.

Gloucester Air Pistol Winter 2017-18:

R. Matthews, 3rd in Division 1; A Coubrough, 3rd in Division 5; J. Crewe, 1st in Division 6; R. Sedman, 1st in Division 7; R. Gadd, 6th in Division 7.

There was no Herefordshire Air Pistol Championship in 2017.
