YOUNGSTERS from Ashfield Park Primary School and Nursery were shown around St Mary’s Church by Ross-on-Wye parish rector Rev Sean Semple.
And some even tried out the pulpit for size as part of their visit!
A school spokesperson said: “Beech and Willow classes would like to thank Sean Semple and his team for the warm welcome at St Mary’s Church.
“The children explored the church and hunted for crosses because they have been learning that a cross is an important symbol for Christians.
“Sean spent time answering the children’s many interesting questions and talking about his role as Rector of the church.
“Everyone discovered something new about the history of Saint Mary’s church!”
Meanwhile, Rev Semple and curate Rev Tiffany Jackson went to Kts Craft warehouse on Monday (May 23) to present a cheque of nearly £1,400 to Katie Fowler to support her wonderful work in Ukraine.
The money was raised by various events at St Mary’s Church over the last month, including an organ recital at the church given by Suzy StClair which raised just over £1,000, which was split between Kts and the Bridge Charity, based in Poland, who are supporting refugee efforts in Ukraine.
