Residents and staff at West Bank Care recently enjoyed a double dose of festivities, marking both the Lunar New Year and Valentine's Day.
On Saturday, February 10th, they welcomed the Year of the Dragon with a day of festivities. Residents created lanterns and dragons and decorated the home in preparation for the celebrations. Residents and staff enjoyed reading their horoscopes and discovering what animal they were in the lunar calendar. The chefs cooked a delicious Oriental lunch for the residents and family members to enjoy. Residents received Lucky Red Envelopes a tradition within the East Asian cultural and Fortune cookies for a bit of fun, a truly fabulous day of exploring culture and traditions.
Love took centre stage at West Bank on Valentine's Day, when they collaborated with Designer Flowers, a local florist, to bring red roses for everyone. Activities and wellbeing organised ‘Sponsor a Rose’ where family and members of the community could purchase a rose for staff and residents at the home to show how much they are appreciated, loved and valued.
