A DOG show, a Disney-themed fancy dress contest, games and a packed schedule of family entertainment awaits at Walford Village Hall on Bank Holiday Monday.

The big summer family fun day, which traditionally attracts hundreds of families to join in the fun in the sun event on Monday, August 26, is building on the success of the last two events.

This year, the event will stage a Disney-themed fancy dress contest and a giant inflatable slide for children. The ever-popular dog show returns, boasting ten different classes ranging from the best fancy-dressed dog and the waggiest tail to the best sausage catcher and king of the show.

There will be a range of traditional children’s games including splat the rat, hook-a-duck and sack races. The event will be surrounded by an array of stalls offering a huge variety of exciting goods and games.

Walford Village Hall trustee, Anthony Jones, said: “Last year’s event was an amazing success. So many people turned out in the sunshine to support us.

“They had a great time and this year, it looks to be our best yet with a wide variety of outlets with delicious food and drink, many stalls, our very popular dog show. We’d like to thank all those stall-holders for their support.  “We can’t wait to see all the colourful costumes for our Disney-themed fancy dress competition.

Entry to the fun day is £1 for adults. Children and dogs go free. Entry fee to dog show is £2 per class, Judging starts at midday for classes one to five and at 2pm for classes six to ten. Please remember to bring cash as we do not have card facilities.
