A group of volunteers including youth workers and young people have been doing their bit to help make Ross an even better place recently.
Representing the Ross Baptist Church, the volunteers could be seen over the week commencing Monday August 6 in their purple shirts performing a number of duties including litter-picking and painting around the town.
Monday was spent litter picking around the town, on Tuesday the church organised a games afternoon on Rope Walk. Wednesday saw the volunteers paint the bollards at the end of Wye Street before being taught some sign language at lunch time. Thursday they worked in the Prospect Gardens and on Friday the group weeded loads of Himalayan Balsam near the skate park. In between members of the church provided picnics and barbecues.
A church spokeseprson said: “Ross Baptist Church would like to express their thanks to all those who helped particularly the Young People and Youth Workers, the Ross Community Litter Clean Up Crew, Anne Taylor, Ross Town Council, Naomi the community Champion at Morrisons, Rosemary and Balfour Beatty, particularly Molly the Locality Liaison coordinator who provided them with the litter picking equipment.”
