Nine ladies, who nearly all belong to a Ross circuits/running group triumphed on Sunday, October 11th, winning the all female team competition at the Royal Marines 10k Commando Challenge, on Woodbury Common near Exeter.
The team of mixed age and ability but with a united sense of humour and lunacy tackled the course comprising of 6k of road running and 4k of a training course used by the Royal Marines. Their friendship and determination got each other through the many tight tunnels, pits of mud and the famous 'Sheep-Dip' (a fully submerged tunnel).
The combination of their total sponsorship money and overall team time gave this group of dirty ladies first place.
They are very grateful to everyone who contributed sponsorship for the event's nominated charities, the Devon Air Ambulance and The Royal British Legion.
Anyone wishing for more information about this fitness group, which meets on Wednesdays (both ladies and men), please contact Phil on 07813 152536.
