The Friends of Ross Hospital hosted a Strawberry Tea on July 15th to mark the 20th anniversary of the hospital opening on Alton Street.
The event raised approximately £550. After the Strawberry Tea, Jill Davies, Chair of the Friends of Ross Hospital, sent a letter to Princess Anne, who opened the hospital on July 15th 1997. Mrs Davies send the Princess Royal a commemorative mug and tea towel, and some information about the afternoon.
Last week, she was thrilled when she received a reply from Buckingham Palace, from Captain Nick Wright, CVO, the Private Secretary to HRH The Princess Royal. It said:
“Dear Mrs Davies,
“The Princess has asked me to thank you for your kind letter dated 18th July enclosing a tea towel commemorating the twentieth anniversary of Her Royal Highness opening of the Ross Community Hospital.
“The Princess was pleased to receive your kind gift and to hear about the Strawberry Tea held by the Friends of Ross Hospital on 15th July to commemorate the opening of the hospital twenty years ago. Her Royal Highness is grateful to you for writing and sends you and the committee her best wishes for the next 20 years.”
