MADAM, I was very grateful that my sister-in-law Janice Knapper, who sent me a copy of the Gazette with the photo of the Memorial Mug devoted to Albert Knapper. As I am now nearly 86 and resident in Luton, Bedfordshire, I am not able to see this memorial. Albert was one of my many Uncles living in Brampton. Until I joined the Royal Navy in 1944, I often used to visit my Grandmother and her three sons, who also lived in Brampton. I know Albert had a Medal for WW1, but where it is now I have no idea. My youngest son and daughter-in-law bring me to Ross for my Birthday every year. This year it is from Friday August 8th to 10th, but I don't think I will be able to see the Mug as the hall will not be open.
