Dear Editor,

I have recently been discharged from Peregrine ward at Ross Community Hospital and I would like to thank the staff for the care and support they provided for me.

I was admitted on Sunday evening, June 18th, and the staff on duty were fully prepared to receive and welcome me. At that time I was feeling unwell and vulnerable but staff made me feel safe and comfortable.

Throughout my ten day stay on the ward, every member of the team from doctors, nursing staff, psychotherapists, porters, domestic and cleaning staff were kind and professional at all times. I was treated with respect, dignity (and good humour when appropriate).

Follow-up was arranged, organising aids I might need when I returned home.

The atmosphere on the ward was lively and inviting, prompting my visitors to say that they felt welcomed and at ease.

Until I needed the support of our community hospital I was unaware of how much hard work is carried out by The League of Friends and what an asset the hospital is to our community.
