A temporary speed limit has been imposed on a stretch of the A49 trunk road between at Bridstow as a result of damage to a retaining wall adjacent to the road.

A 40mph limit will be in force for a length of road 230 metres west and 47 metres east of the access egress road leading to from Baileys Home homeware store, at Bridstow.

The speed restriction will be in operation 24 hours a day, until works to repair the damage can be carried out. Vehicles being used for police, fire and rescue authority, ambulance or special forces purposes will be exempt from the speed restriction.

The speed limit will remain in place for a maximum of 18 months.
