OXFORD Coroner Alice Thompson delivered a verdict of unlawful killing following the inquest last week of a Symonds Yat-based soldier.

Warrant Officer Class 2 Leonard Thomas, aged 44, was killed on July 1st last year while serving in Afghanistan. Fellow soldiers, Guardsman Craig Roderick and Guardsman Apete Tuisovurua, were killed alongside him. All three had been helping to organise a meeting with the local detachment of Afghan National Civil Order Police in Helmand Province.
