Although news of the number of businesses closing due to Covid-19 has been increasing there are still many businesses open and hoping to remain so for the foreseeable future.

There are many shops which rely on trade for Mother’s Day and Easter and it is vital that people still continue to support their local businesses through this difficult time.

Tom Payne who runs the flower stall at the market in Ross said that he had spent thousands on stock for Mother’s Day so he had no choice other than to stay open. He said he will be back in Ross on Saturday and although he completely understands why older people are not going out he is hopeful that more people will still want flowers for their mums provided they stay a reasonable distant apart.

Boots the Chemist is only allowing six people at a time into the shop but the queue waiting in the rain accepted that these are very unusual times.

Mountain Warehouse is still open and has brought forward a 50% off sale across the store. They hope to stay open to provide families where children are not at school the clothing or equipment they need to still be able to get outside and get exercise.

If you are still open or have had to adapt to the changing circumstances please let the Ross Gazette know by email to [email protected]
