Following the Civic Service on Sunday morning, October 8th Ross Lib Dems rolled up their sleeves to do a spot of tidying up at The Prospect.
Members had noticed that County Council contractors Balfour Beatty are no longer carrying out any maintenance of the shrubs and borders and that, consequently, it is all now very overgrown.
Lib Dem member Sam Phillips and Cllrs Chris Bartrum, Jane Roberts and Caroline Utting decided to do something about it.
Cllr Jane Roberts told the Ross Gazette that as the Remembrance Day service is not far away it was important to make a start. she said:?“Luckily the warm and sunny afternoon was perfect and a lot was achieved.”
Ross-on-Wye Liberal Democrats will be back at The Prospect next Sunday afternoon October 15th, from 2pm, to continue with the work. Anyone wanting to join in should just turn-up in suitable clothing and bring some gardening tools if they have them, especially secateurs and rakes.
