Ross-on-Wye Town Carnival Committee are looking to arrange a town meeting later in the month in order to recruit new members.
There are now just five members on the Committee. A spokesperson for the Town Carnival Committee said: “We cannot continue with these numbers as we all also hold full time jobs, so please consider if you can help and commit to giving the town a good day.
“It’s a case of help or lose it I’m afraid, so any help would be gratefully accepted.”
The date of the meeting will be announced shortly, where the process to recruit new members will begin.
The Ross Carnival always takes place on the first Saturday in August and is a highlight of the year for many residents.
The Carnival has been established in its modern format since the Queen’s Silver Jubilee when it was revived, but there were carnivals held in Ross over many years. The tradition had died out over the years until in 1977 a group of local residents decided to restart the special day to bring the town together.
