UPCOMING local Easter break activities, organised by the Ross-on-Wye Town Council, are set to begin in April, writes Ella Hamilton.
Kicking off on Monday, April 14, with two cinema screenings of Tangled and Big Hero 6 at the Phoenix Theatre at 2pm and 4pm, - booking required through the theatre’s website.
On April 15, there are hedgehog crafts and a treasure hunt being held at the Ross Community Gardens, from 1pm.
April 16 sees two yoga sessions taking place at the Band Stand, led by Phoenix Fit, The first session begins at 2pm with the second at 3.20 pm
The Easter Egg Hunt will begin at the bandstand at midday on Thursday, April 17,
Ross’s Easter Market will be held on Saturday, April 19, and will also be the hosting the Bunny Bake-Off, judged by three star guests. Saku Chandrasekara, a 2023 Great British Bake-Off contestant and Tasha, Stones, who uses her baking as a creative outlet by attempting difficult and inventive designs.
Alongside them is 2023 Young MasterChef contestant Oscar Kay who impressed judges by adding a modern spin to traditional recipes.
The Bunny Bake-Off will follow the theme of tray bakes. Entries to the bake-off close on April 10.
A quiz evening beginning at 7pm is being held at Ross library on Tuesday, April 22, (requires booking.)
On Wednesday, April 23, an arts and crafts workshop will be taking place at the Market House with Art Studio Ross, from 10am to 12pm. The Corn Exchange is hosting a board game event on April 24, from 3pm.
On Friday, April 25, a children’s writing workshop will be held at the Ross library, beginning at 10am. Booking required.
Finally, on the same day, two puppet shows, performed by Sea Legs Puppet Theatre, will be held at the Market House, the first beginning at 1.30pm and the second at 3pm.
