Local butcher, Tim Hanks, from Cornwalls Family Butcher in Ross-on-Wye, is delighted to be shortlisted for the Eat Game Awards, in recognition for his contributions to the cooking and eating of game meat.

The Eat Game Awards is an exciting initiative aimed at celebrating all that is best about wild British produce by recognising great culinary achievements.

Tim told the Ross Gazette: “It’s exciting! It’s nice to be recognised and it’s going really well.”

He added: “The awards are trying to promote game, which is also great, as it is wild meat - and you can’t get much more organic than that!”

The Best Game Butcher award is given to a local butcher who actively sells game, has the knowledge to answer the customer’s questions and sources locally.
