Readers of the Ross Gazette have been outraged by the amount of litter across the town, and several people have contacted the paper, claiming that the state of litter in Ross-on-Wye is getting worse by the day, but the Gazette has been told by a local councillor it is not the fault of Ross Town Council.
The Ross Gazette has received several complaints from readers across the town, but every area that was complained about is the duty of Herefordshire County Council to keep tidy.
Councillor Chris Bartrum, told the Ross Gazette: “All these places are under Herefordshire Council’s responsibility, and it is no secret that they have cut down on the number of times they collect litter.”
Cllr Bartrum has organised several litter picks in the area in the last five years, and is committed to tidying up the town.
The complaints are regarding the Park on Roman Way, the Railway Garden at Fiveways and Croft Lane areas.
