Following last week’s story about a group of serious Petanque players who are keen to introduce the sport to more people, Ross Garden Store have donated £200 to the club to help their vision become a reality.
The cheque was presented to Roger Williams, chairman of the Petanque Club, on Tuesday, November 5th.
A spokesperson for Ross Garden Store said: “We have offered a cheque for £200 to the newly formed committee to help them get the venture off the ground.
“We are fully supportive of the venture here and think that it will be an excellent addition for the town.”
There will be a quiz night on November 22nd at the Sports Centre and a concert at the Phoenix Theatre on November 30th to help raise money.See the full story in this week’s edition of the Ross Gazette, or subscribe to our online edition here
