Ross Court residents received a visit from members of the Samaritans’ charity on Monday, February 24.

Members of the charity’s Hereford branch visited the care home to hold a coffee morning and have a chat to residents about their services.

The charity also received a cheque on behalf of Ross Court activities co-ordinator Claire Lockley who gave a personal donation of £300 to the charity after organising a Book and Craft Fair at the Shirehall in Hereford on November 30 last year.

A raffle was also held for the charity with £56 raised by Ross Court residents and friends.

Samaritans’ Hereford branch director Libby Dolloway gratefully accepted the cheque and the raffle money which came to a grand total of £356, and the charity would like to thank all at Ross Court Care Home for their generosity and support.

The Hereford branch of the national Samaritans charity aims to enable people in Herefordshire, the surrounding area and elsewhere who are experiencing feelings of distress or despair to receive confidential emotional support in order to improve their emotional health and to reduce the incidence of suicide.
