A NEW minister is being installed at the Ross-on-Wye Baptist Church this weekend.

On Saturday Rev’d Ian Olliver 53, will be inducted as the new minister and will be the 29th pastor to serve the town in this capacity.

The church has been at the very heart of the community in Ross for over 200 years, its building a great landmark in the middle of Broad Street.

Rev’d Ian is delighted to have landed this role and said: “It is a real privilege to be called to serve the people of Ross in this way.

“There is a warmth and kindness within the fellowship at Ross Baptist Church which is truly special and it will be a joy to journey with them in the coming years.

“This fabulous and friendly bunch of humans are perhaps one of Ross’s best kept open secrets.”

Ian moved into the area from Telford with his wife Clare and two young adult children last month. He is looking forward to getting to know the people of the town, and also making use of its brilliant facilities.  His first canoe trip has already booked.
